How Do You Know You Are Infected With Omicron?

Covid-19 is a severe respiratory syndrome and is highly contagious. It is the most serious pandemic since 1918, having a disastrous effect on the world’s population and economy.

WHO has described the five variants of coronavirus since the beginning of this pandemic:

Alpha: The first variant reported in the United Kingdom (UK)
Beta: First reported in South Africa
Gamma: First reported in Brazil
Delta:First reported in India
Omicron: First reported in South Africa
What are the symptoms of Omicron?

According to the health reports, Omicron variant’s symptoms are different from the symptoms of other variants of SARS-CoV-2. Omicron is spreading fast but with less intensity. People affected with omicron generally don’t need hospitalization. Because it is more infectious, we need to be more cautious and look out for the symptoms.

The preliminary symptoms of omicron are generally body ache, fever, headache, fatigue, and weakness in the first few days. Eventually, the person may develop a dry cough along with runny nose and sneezing. In most of the cases, fever gets resolved in 3 days. If that is not the case, then it becomes a sign of severe infection that needs close monitoring.

Usual symptoms:
The usual symptoms for the “Omicron” are fever, cough, and tiredness.

Unusual symptoms:
The unusual symptoms for the “Omicron” are sore throat, headache, aches, pains, diarrhoea, a rash on skin, discolouration of fingers or toes, red or irritated eyes.

Consequential symptoms:
The consequential symptoms for the “Omicron” are difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, loss of speech or mobility, confusion, or chest pain.
